Hey there! I’m Erin and this is my adventure to eco friendly, sustainable living. I’ve always been a lover of nature and animals. Growing up just outside the village of Yarker, surrounded by forest and open water, gave me the opportunity to forge a connection forever with Mother Earth. This passion is what drove me to start Erin’s Eco Adventure in the early summer of 2019.
This is me! Hi everybody!
I’ve always lived an eco friendly lifestyle. Growing up we grew vegetables in the summer, recycled everything we could and cycled our clothes through as many children as possible. As I got older I became more aware of the impact of global warming on the planet and how it was only getting worse. In my early 20’s I decided I needed to do more to lower my family’s impact on the earth. I started phasing out many household products such as petroleum based candles, lotions and single use plastics and began using less harmful alternatives like soy wax candles, natural balms and beeswax wraps. While this small change was great it was still not enough to satisfy me.
Happy Hand Balm was one of my first products! Did you know I originally sold them in small mason jars?
And that’s when Erin’s Eco Adventure was born. I decided that I would help others in my community lower their daily impact on the earth. In June of 2019 I joined the Frontenac Farmers Market and began selling balms, soy wax candles and beeswax wraps. By the end of the year I had added Dog wash, Bar soap, Lip Balms and more to my store. The sky was the limit and I was ready to do whatever I could to help my community and my planet.
That’s me at our first market of 2020!
After about a year and a half in business Erin’s Eco Adventure is growing even more! Through social media and newsletters I want to help my community make informed choices about living sustainably.
